True to his word, @fe_gaultieri from Australia gave #sendmybook3 to a wonderful couple who were embarking on a world trip.
@sabaticmood writes “Hello @sendmybookaroundtheworld Yesss it is us! We are really glad to take this book! It means a lot for our world trip! We gonna share with you a good moment about our trip! Thanks for that and congratulations for the iniciative😘”
It’s just my little pet project but people all over the world are getting caught up in it. They share a little bit of themselves on each page and treat the book with the care I could only have imagined ~ #grateful
When I sent the first of these 3 journals out into the world more than 5 years ago, I seriously doubted that I would get any of them back, and that was okay, or at least I thought it was at the time. Continue reading →
I’ve been a bit shoddy of late keeping this site up to date (hey, that rhymes, lol) so here is the latest on Book 3 as posted by Abel Sarpe from Sao Paulo in October 2016. I wonder what other wonderful locations the book has travelled through since it was last seen in Hong Kong!
Abel wrote: “Hi, I think you know this book! 😃 I’ve received it in Byron Bay – Australia and I brought it back home to Brazil with me!! Now I’m giving the book to my friend Fernando Gualtieri who is taking it back to Melbourne – Australia with him!! I feel so lucky to have received this book!! And be able to participate on this!! SendMyBookAroundTheWorld wrote: “Hi Abel Sarpe, yes, I absolutely DO know this book. What a great photo! Thank you so much for posting it. I’ve been wondering where one of my books would turn up next and now, thanks to YOU, I know it’s been to Australia and Brazil. I love your idea of everyone who writes in it meeting up one day. You never know, it just might happen. Happy Travels my friend! And happy travels to you too, Fernando Guiltieri, as you head back ‘down under’ – G’day mate!”
These last few months, I’ve really been losing hope about this website and those feelings have increased over the last couple of weeks.
The back story: I left Book #3 in Amalfi, Italy in August 2014 with a lovely couple from New Zealand who were visiting with their daughter who lives in England. It’s almost a year later with no word of its whereabouts.
I began to question why I started this project/blog. Why would people think it was a cool idea to send a blank journal around the world for anyone to write in? Continue reading →
Okay, I admit it. I’ve been hibernating. Even though it’s Canada, this year has been brutal. That, coupled with the fact that I’m not into snow sports, makes for an extremely long winter. But I’ve been thinking about my books and wondering where the heck they are. Continue reading →
So, I got to thinking. I launched this website almost 8 months ago and I’ve only issued four posts which, let’s face it, is not very many. Three of the four are about specific places in the world so it’s not as if there is a shortage of things to write about with over 200 countries out there. But for all the many bloggers that ‘Like’ my posts (okay, so there are really only a few of you right now, but I keep hoping that will change soon) you know that my writings are based on where my blank journal has been. Today, Sunday September 30th, 2012 I bought a book. Well, not a book as such because it has no words. A journal to be exact where the pages are as empty as my head is during those times I have blogger’s block (for my other website, that is). Continue reading →
